During the summer, students who complete 40 activities with a first try score of 75% or more on each, will be automatically be entered into a raffle to win an iPad mini! Plus, each week we’ll send an exciting prize to the student with the most achievement points across the nation. These are the points students earn automatically for completing work within the program. No registration is required to join this contest.
The contest runs from June 9th to the first day of school August 29, 2016!
Conferences
Instead of a normal parent-teacher conference on Monday 5/16 & Wednesday 5/18, we want the students to show off their work in a student-led conference! Students will take you to their Math and Literacy classrooms and guide you through what they have been working on recently. When you have finished your student-led conference, you are more than welcome to check in with your child's teacher.
Things to be aware of:
*Students will have practiced this, so they will know exactly what to do.
*There will be multiple sets of students and parents in the room at one time.
*This should take about 20 minutes.
*This is optional, but encouraged.

End of Year Rewards
It is important that the students remain focused as we bring our year to a close and review for the End of Grade Tests. In order to help keep the students focused we have come up with end of the year rewards. The students will work both as a class and as individuals to earn these rewards. Each student will be able to earn 6 dojo points each day. 2 points for being on task, 2 points for following classroom procedures/rules and 2 points for being organized. If students are not meeting these requirements they will lose points. In order for students to be a part of the end of year rewards they will need to earn at least 70 points by June 3.

DOJO Auction
The students have worked very hard earning DOJO points the first semester. We will have our auction on June 9th. Students will be able to use their points to “bid” on items donated. If you have any items you can donate that would be great. Items may include games, books, candy etc that the students may like or items they may purchase as gifts for others (calendars, note pads, lotions, etc). Items may be purchased at the dollar store or other discount stores, or may be things you have around your house that are new or gently used. Thanks so much for your help with this project.
